
The 21st annual San Diego Food & Wine Festival is upon us (November 2-9). For hardcore foodies, it’s like Thanksgiving and Christmas wrapped into one weeklong smorgasbord of delicious presents. The San Diego Sun still has some tickets to gift to readers.
The festival is filled with highlights: Celebrity chef cooked dinners. A culinary excursion to Mexico. Educational programming in a Food Summit. And then: The Grand Weekend. The SDFWF experience culminates with three marquee events.
The sold-out Grand Decant is a wine-tastic pour-pouri on the evening of November 7. The Sunday Grand Fiesta is a celebración of every Latinx flavor and spice that will ignite your taste buds after being delivered between a flour tortilla taco shell.
The Grand Tasting (November 8) is your dream come true – the one with 300 food vendors and nearly 800 different wines, beers and spirits. Local restaurateurs stand by in cloud-colored booths. They pass out Wagyu beef, shrimp-and-scallop plates and lobster dishes that taste so fresh they may have just crawled out of the San Diego Bay (this is a dream sequence, remember?).
