The San Diego Sun is taking time off at the end of the year. This week, you can check out freelance travel stories I wrote that appeared in the pages of Ranch & Coast Magazine in 2025. (Yes, I do occasionally cover topics that aren’t based in downtown San Diego.)

Here’s the itinerary for the week (the links will take you to the pages of R&C):

Monday — Jamul Casino Resort.

Tuesday — The Ranch at Laguna Beach.

Wednesday — Edgewood Tahoe Resort.

Thursday — A Wellness Escape In Scottsdale.

Enjoy these glimpses of destinations I got to explore. I’ve done travel writing for decades and one quote by French novelist Gustav Flaubert always sums up the experience: “Travel makes you modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.” SDSun
