With the holidays in the rearview mirror, hopefully you’ve got New Year’s Eve plans in place. (No? Check out our NYE Recommended list.) Now, then, it’s time to plot out the fun you’ll have in 2025. January Sundays are for Music Bingo at Punch Bowl Social; Wednesdays are reserved for Twisted Trivia at Quartyard. Rather do yoga with cats, participate in group embroidery or cheer on a rodeo? San Diego International Auto Show

December 28 – January 1 (Saturday-Wednesday) As you rev up your engine for 2025, check out the latest cars at the San Diego International Auto Show at the San Diego Convention Center. Come compare models from various manufacturers, participate in test drives and share the fun on Family Day. More info

Flashback: A 2010s EDM Tribute Party 

January 10 (Friday) Dance the night away to your favorite 2010s EDM hits at Nova SD’s themed dance party. Featuring artists like Zedd, Calvin Harris and David Guetta, this bash offers a “kandi” making station, LED batons and glowsticks, balloon drops and confetti showers. More info

January 10-12 (Friday-Sunday) Giddy up to Petco Park for this three-day, family-friendly rodeo featuring notable rodeo athletes competing for $800,000 in prizes. First rodeo? This year there will be rodeo after parties each day, featuring artists like Elle King and Ryan Bingham. More info

Long Live Eras: Taylor’s Version Dance Party

January 11 (Saturday) Even though Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has come to a close, you can bust out your friendship bracelets and relive all your favorite memories at this House of Blues dance party. Dress accordingly for your favorite era and fully embrace full Swiftie status. More info

January 17 (Friday) Black eyeliner is a must at this event that embraces the emo subculture. Celebrating the 36th anniversary of one of San Diego’s most iconic venues, this show promises an emo-tional good time. More info

Quilty Pleasures

January 17 (Friday) As a cozy household staple, many of us don’t think twice about quilts. Explore their rich history during Coffee and Conversations at Mingei International Museum with quilt scholar Olivia Joseph. She’ll discuss 19th century Western interpretations of the East as demonstrated in this artform. More info

Cats on Mats: Yoga at the Cat Cafe

January 19 (Sunday) If you had nine lives, you’d want to spend at least one of them at this quirky exercise class. During the first hour, guests participate in a yoga class accompanied by roaming cats. After class, there are 30 minutes of playtime with the cats, which are available for adoption. More info

Embroidery and Mindfulness 

January 26 (Sunday) Soothe your mind after a busy holiday season at this calming embroidery workshop at the Museum of Contemporary Art. After a tour of the museum’s current exhibitions, guests of any skill level will learn foundational stitches and create a unique piece. More info
