The Rise Of The San Diego International Fringe Festival

This year’s festival, held at 11 venues, will include 70 acts and more than 300 performances

The San Diego International Fringe Festival is reclaiming its title as the city’s largest performing arts festival.

The 2023 version of the festival will include 70 acts and 300 performances, spread out over 11 venues taking place from May 16 to 26.

The SDIFF is a nonprofit venture under Contact Arts aimed at boosting local arts and culture. Artistic performances include cabaret, comedy, circus, dance, film, poetry and myriad other acts.

Venues located in the downtown area include:

  • Balboa Park’s Marie Hitchcock Puppet Theater, Centro de Cultural Raza and Grassy Knoll.
  • Liberty Station’s Mockingbird Improv and LightBox Theater.
  • Logan Heights’ New Destiny Church and No Limits Church.
  • Hillcrest’s Finest City Improv.
