Sandwiched date-wise between downtown San Diego’s Taste of East Village (August 28-29) and Taste of Gaslamp (September 14) is Sabor Del Barrio, which takes place on Sunday, September 8, from noon to 3 p.m..
Set just south of downtown in Barrio Logan, Sabor Del Barrio literally translates to flavor of the neighborhood.
Like the city-based “Taste Of” events, Sabor Del Barrio is a self-guided food tour of the area, highlighting the Chicano culinary arts and culture in Barrio Logan.
Sabor Del Barrio will feature more than three dozen restaurants, coffee houses, bakeries, breweries and distilleries.
Also: Look for DJs spinning music and a lowrider car showcase.
Organizers from the Barrio Logan Association say: “Attendees can walk, bike, or take the trolley service to enjoy the array of food and beverage, street vendors, local shops, outdoor public art, murals, lowriders and everything that makes Barrio Logan an authentic experience.”
