Rooftop Cinema Club Goes Year-Round With New Films & Special Events

Downtown’s outdoor movie theater will open for the Super Bowl, Valentine’s Day and 2023 top bills from the “Barbenheimer” weekend

The popular Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero has gone year-round for the first time and opened its doors in January for limited special programming at downtown San Diego’s Manchester Grand Hyatt.

In early 2024, the Rooftop will open Friday through Sunday for special events.

The public can purchase tickets now for the Rooftop Favorites series which includes 2023’s Christopher Nolan thriller, Oppenheimer, alongside last year’s other blockbuster, Barbie.

Looking for a spot to watch the NFL’s Super Bowl LVIII? A Big Game watch party happens on the Hyatt’s rooftop deck on Sunday, February 11.

February 14 is Valentine’s Day and anybody can celebrate “Galentine’s Day” with feature movies that include Bridesmaids, and La La Land.

For all of 2024, Rooftop Cinema Club is revising its age limits for films.

Movies that that air before 4 p.m. will be open to guests of all ages. Films that start from 4-7 p.m. will be open to moviegoers 13-and-over. Films that start from 7 p.m. onward will be 18-and-over. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Ticket prices start at $11 for kids, $15 for teens and $19 for adults.
