The sport of golf originated in Scotland, has been on, off, and back on again in the Olympics, and was played on the moon by astronauts.
On Wednesday, December 18, Mini-Golf will make another downtown San Diego landing on Fifth Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter. The pop-up course will be open from 4 to 9 p.m.
Along with 18 creatively constructed holes of play, Gaslamp Mini Golf will include food and drink specials, such as: Lumi hot sake ($8), Huntress cocktails ($9), Swing Social Waygu Smash Burger & fries ($10) and a 1/2 dozen oysters at Rustic Root ($12).
The official HQ for the night is RMD Group’s Swing Social (527 Fifth Avenue). Sponsors include Maker’s Mark, Hornitos, and Amaras Mezcal.
“Having worked in the Gaslamp for more than a decade, I love seeing events like Gaslamp Mini Golf bring the community together,” RMD Director of Marketing Katie Bosworth says.
The event is fun and casual, or can be as competitive as you’d like to make it with friends.

Keep in mind these famous quotes about the game of golf:
“Golf is a good walk spoiled.” –Mark Twain
“I know I am getting better at golf because I’m hitting fewer spectators.” –President Gerald R. Ford
“Sex and golf are the two things you can enjoy even if you are not good at them.” –Roy McAvoy (Kevin Costner) in the movie Tin Cup.
Tickets for Gaslamp Mini Golf start at $20. Use the code SDSUN when you order online and get $5 off. (In the ho-ho-holiday spirit, RMD Group will double each discount with a $10 donation to Skylight, the charitable arm of The San Diego Sun).
