Pet Day on the Bay
April 20 (Saturday) All paws on deck! During this narrated cruise, pets are invited, treats are provided and you’ll get to experience San Diego’s iconic landmarks with your furry friend. A portion of the event’s proceeds will go to the San Diego Humane Society. More info
EarthFest in Balboa Park
April 20 (Saturday) Let your inner eco-warrior out at this free Earth Day celebration and festival. With more than 100 vendors, local organizations and entertainment for all ages, this event gets a green thumbs up. More info

Shrek Rave
April 20 (Saturday) You’re invited to the swamp at this Shrek-themed party at the House of Blues. Attendees are encouraged to get their ogre on, let loose and dress up as their favorite character. You’ll be screaming the words to “All-Star” by the end of the night. More info

Chicano Park Day
April 20 (Saturday) “Bringing Back the True Spirit and Energy of the Chicano Park Takeover” is the theme of this year’s commemoration of Chicano Park. April 22 (Monday) Willie Nelson is on the road again following the release of his latest album, Bluegrass. The indefatigable 90-year-old is headlining the annual Outlaw Music Festival Tour. More info
Children’s Book Party
April 27 (Saturday) It’s not a fairytale. San Diego kids get two free books at this event promoting youth literacy. Held at the Spreckels Organ Pavillion in Balboa Park, there will also be light refreshments and entertainment. More info
