A new, low-cost airline is joining the lineup at San Diego International Airport this spring.

Breeze Airways will initiate five nonstop flights to some underserved destinations.

The airline will be offering flights to Cincinnati, Ohio; Jacksonville, Florida; Norfolk, Virginia; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; and Pittsburgh.

One-stop, no plane-change flights will also be available to Providence, Rhode Island; and Hartford, Connecticut.

The new service from San Diego will start at $129 one-way.

“We’re thrilled to add service to San Diego, our fifth destination in California, as we introduce five brand new nonstops and two direct destinations from San Diego International,” Breeze Airways president Tom Doxey says.

He adds: “San Diegans won’t have to connect when traveling to these seven locations, getting there twice as fast for around half the price.”

Breeze Airways began service in 2021, and has been ranked as one of the best domestic airlines in the U.S. by Travel + Leisure magazine’s World’s Best Awards for the past two years.

The airline will be operating on an Airbus A220-300 aircraft and will offer 12 recliner seats, 45 extra legroom seats, and 80 standard economy seats.

Breeze offers a mix of more than 150 year-round and seasonal nonstop routes between 46 cities in 27 states.  Founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, the airline focuses on efficient and affordable flights between secondary airports, bypassing hubs for shorter travel times.
