Postino WineCafé rolled open its garage-style doors in the 2100 Kettner Building in the north end of Little Italy in late April.
The chain is creating a stronghold on the West Coast, with a 2023 debut in Irvine and a Del Mar site opening on May 11.
The Little Italy site features an umbrella-lined patio decorated with succulents and plant life. Inside: Murano glass chandeliers, mid-century modern brass finishings and pops of trippy wallpaper.
Postino Little Italy draws inspiration from the property’s past life as British Motors San Diego’s oldest and largest imported car dealership. Nostalgic design details reference vintage cars, including an art wall with 5,500 embroidered mechanic name tags.
During the month of May 2024, Postino Little Italy will donate $1 from each bruschetta board purchased to ARTS (A Reason To Survive) in support of the organization’s efforts as a center for arts and culture that supports families and community members.
