Once again, Petco Park has been recognized as the best Major League Baseball stadium in the country. The San Diego Padres’ home field in East Village is about to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Petco Park was ranked the number one MLB stadium in the United States by USA Today.
According to the national newspaper’ “For The Win” site, the judging panel used “the same — yes, subjective — criteria of general atmosphere, design, location, amenities, food and character.”
The article also raved: “We really shouldn’t be surprised at this point because Petco Park truly is the perfect ballpark. It’s embedded right in the heart of downtown San Diego with the skyline basically on top of you. It’s impossible to have a bad experience there. “
During Padres Fanfest on March 24, the team is scheduled to unveil a $20 million makeover of adjacent Gallagher Square Park.
