New Mexican restaurant on Fifth Avenue was opened by a pair of well-known local F&B entities
Hasta Manana Cantina.

A new Mexican restaurant in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter that would love to serve you over and over greets guests with a huge sign that reads “Hasta Manana” (Spanish for “see you tomorrow”).

Hasta Manana Cantina (310 Fifth Avenue) is run by pair of veteran downtown restaurant enterprises. Executive chef Kevin Templeton, Aron Langellier and Dave Jones are the brain trust behind Barleymash, Smoking Gun and Spill the Beans. Todd Brown is the principal behind Bub’s.

The site was formerly occupied by Rockin’ Baja Lobster, which has moved to a new location halfway up the block.

The restaurant’s striking new green exterior seems to glow. Inside, several colorful murals decorate the dining area. The Monkey Bar, which specializes in tequila, is in the back of the space.

The menu offers Baja Coastal Cuisine, including tacos, burritos, mole wings, diablo shrimp and more.

The cantina is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and stays open until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
