
February brings Black History Month, Museum Month, Mardi Gras, Valentine’s Day and more. To celebrate all the happenings in downtown San Diego there’s an extra day tacked on this month. It’s a quadrennial chance for lovebirds to leap over to the County Administration Building on Pacific Highway to say “I do” on February 29.

MUSEUM MONTH

Feb. 1-29. Balboa Park is a go-to for San Diego museophiles, but the eclectic WNDR Museum is a great, relatively new downtown destination. WNDR glows with a 360-degree immersive theater, Quantum Mirror and several dazzling neon exhibits. Open daily. All ages. More info
JUSTIN BIEBER NIGHT
Feb. 3 (Saturday). Expecting a relapse of Bieber Fever? Club 90s at House of Blues has the cure. The once (and forever?) pop sensation’s music takes center stage in a way that will make you want to: Never. Say. Never. More info
POETRY OUT LOUD

Feb. 6 (Tuesday). Roses are red, violets are blue…and at Poetry Out Loud, San Diego students really can do. This spoken-word contest showcases talented local high schoolers. These regional finals are open for public viewing in the Neil Morgan Auditorium at the Downtown San Diego Library. More info

HONOR BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Feb. 13 (Tuesday). Lisa Sanders & Brown Sugar’s “Sincerity in Song” show is filled with soulful country blues, folk pop, gospel, rock and jazz. Check out this San Diego Music Hall of Famer at the Guggenheim Theatre inside UC San Diego’s Park & Market. Grammy-winner Kamau Kenyatta will do a post-show Q&A with Sanders. More info
