San Diegans showed power in numbers at downtown’s Waterfront Park to participate in the national No Kings Day of Nonviolent Action. More than 3,100 similar marches and rallies took place all over the country. Initial reports from the San Diego Police Department said roughly 40,000 individuals participated in downtown San Diego on March 28, 2026. Similar marches were held in June and October last year. Demonstrators carried signs railing against policies in place in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Trump Administration’s engagement in the war in Iran, the cost of living and other causes. San Diego Sun photographer Sal Giametta was there in the streets to capture the passion.
