A tradition that started at Comic-Con International in 2016 just gets sweeter every year.
The San Diego Convention Center has revealed its 2025 suite of limited-edition chocolate candy bars. Sodexo Live! Executive Chef Sufi Karaien and Pastry Chef Molly Pease created the latest batch of imaginative flavors:
- Flying Saucer fuels your Comic-Con mission to Hall H with a gravity-defying mix of coffee beans, toffee, brownie brittle and milk chocolate.
- Home Run Bar knocks it out of the park, mixing game-time snacks like pretzels, pecans, sea salt potato chips and dark chocolate.
- Pop Star Party is a throwback, a celebration and a collectible wrapped into one. Pretty in pink, this treat combines strawberry cream, puffed rice, fortune cookies, and white chocolate.
- Saga of the S’mores ignites your tastebuds. Prepare for a journey to s’moredor with toasted marshmallows, graham crackers, sea salt, and milk chocolate.
“Just as no day at Comic-Con is exactly the same, each taste of these chocolate bars offers something new and surprising,” Chef Karaien says.

Comic-Con brings more than 130,000 visitors to the downtown San Diego Convention Center each year for a celebration of celebrity, cosplay and superhero culture. This year’s event runs from July 24-27.
A total of 7,500 handcrafted bars will be sold this year. That’s up from 5,000 two years ago and down from the 10,000 produced last year.
A limited number of all four bars will be available each morning of the show and sold at a booth in Lobby 20. Each one goes for $10. (My experience shows it takes three people to eat one of these very rich bars in one day; or you could make it your own treat three days in a row.)
Anything especially Willy Wonka about these candy bars? Yes, Charlie. Golden tickets have been hidden inside four of the chocolate bar wrappers. Each ticket can be redeemed for a $100 Starbucks gift card. SDSun
